Introduction of General Duty Pilot
GDP means, General Duty Pilot in Pakistan Air Force. Basic role of PAF GD Pilot is to work as a fighter pilot. Pilot has different roles as per capability and duties in the service.
Pilots fly different Aircraft like F16, JF-17 Thunder, F-7P, Mirage, Mushaq, C-130, Falcon Jet, and other transport Aircraft like IL-17 etc.
How to become a Pilot?. Now, It is quite easy to become a General Duty Pilot if you qualify the following tests.
Achieving 100% results in the following tests means that you are fully prepared but if your result comes less than 100% then you need a lot of practice here.

There are three types of tests for General Duty Pilot (GDP) which includes Intelligence Tests, English Tests and Physics Tests. Test Pattern for GDP Tests is given below in detail:
- Intelligence Test (Verbal Intelligence Test + Non- Verbal Intelligence Test with 100 Total questions in 40 Minutes)
- English Test (Total 100 Questions of MCQs in 40 Min)

Eligibility Criteria for Joining PAF as General Duty Pilot (GDP)
- Max Age : 16 to 22 Years
- Nationality : Male citizens of Pakistan
- Marital Status : Single
- Height : Male: 163 cm (Check your weight HERE)

Note:
- Candidate must be in possession of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or Computerized Form “B”.
- Candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender their foreign nationality before joining the course.
Educational Qualification for GDP (General Duty Pilot)
- A candidate must have passed FSc (Part I & II) with at least 60% aggregate marks in any one of the following:
- FSc (Pre Engg / Pre-Medical / Computer Science)
- FSc with Physics and any two subjects i.e Statistics, Maths, Computer Science or Biology
- A- Level with Physics and Maths or Biology (O- Level in five subjects).

In Pakistan, one type of a pilot is called General Duty Pilot (GDP) who always fly a fighter jet aircraft like F16, JF17 Thunder, Mirage, A5, J10c, F7-PG etc. These pilot remain always in front of the border to face the aerial attacks.
While other type of pilots are those who only fly transport aircraft like C130, T37, Falcon 20, Saab 2000, ZDK-03, IL78, CN 35, Y12, Air Bus A310, Boeing 707, Cesna Citation v, Gulf Stream IV, Phenom 100, K-8, MFi-17 etc.
Both male and female can apply to become general duty pilot. They must be citizen of Pakistan, must be unmarried, age must be between 16-22.
A PAF GD pilot salary in Pakistan is approximately above 200000/- in Pak Rupees.
Flying officer is the second rank of Pakistan Air Force (PAF). There are different branches of commissioning where any cadet is given this rank. For getting this rank one must apply in PAF as a commissioned officer.
In Pakistan Air Force, the head of PAF who commands this organization called Chief of Air Staff which is the highest rank and post of PAF.
In Pakistan Air Force, after PAF GD pilot training, the lowest rank exists in three different categories like; at Commissioned level, the lowest rank is Pilot Officer, at Airman Level, the lowest rank is Leading Aircraft man, and at Civilian level, the lowest rank is class-IV who may be lascar or sanitary worker.
