PASB Jobs

The Pakistan Armed Services Board (PASB) is an organization under the Ministry of Defence in Pakistan. It primarily serves the welfare needs of retired military personnel, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The PASB is responsible for ensuring that the rights and privileges of retired armed services personnel are upheld and that these individuals continue to receive support after their active service has ended. This includes facilitating their reintegration into civilian life, ensuring their access to pensions, healthcare, and other social services, as well as providing support for employment and education for retired service members and their families.

District Armed Services Boards (DASBs) are the local arms of the PASB that operate at the district level across Pakistan. They work closely with local governments and other organizations to deliver services and support to veterans within their respective districts. DASBs play a crucial role in extending the reach of PASB’s welfare initiatives directly to the grassroots level, ensuring that the benefits and services provided by PASB are accessible to all eligible ex-servicemen and their dependents in various parts of the country.

Who are Eligible for Employment in PASB Jobs?

Employment at PASB and DASBs typically is reserved for:

  • Retired Armed Forces Personnel: The majority of positions within PASB and DASBs are specifically designed for retired military personnel from the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force. This includes high-ranking positions such as Director General, Directors, and Deputy Directors, down to various administrative and clerical roles.

These positions are often filled by:

    • Direct appointment of retired officers.
    • Re-employment on contract of retired officers who have specific experience and qualifications that align with the needs of PASB or DASBs.
  • Quota System: The employment of retired personnel is usually distributed based on a proportionate basis among the three services—Army, Navy, and Air Force—with a significant majority of positions often allocated to the Army.

The roles within PASB and DASBs are tailored to utilize the skills and experience of retired military personnel, ensuring that their transition to civilian roles is smooth and that their capabilities continue to contribute positively to the country. These positions not only help in managing the welfare system for ex-servicemen but also allow these individuals to remain engaged in structured and meaningful employment after their active military careers.
